Official Terms for the DataFlex programming competition with Unicorn InterGlobal and Data Access Europe - December 2016

Official Rules for the DataFlex programming competition with Unicorn InterGlobal Ltd an Data Access Europe.

1) Organising companies

Unicorn InterGlobal registered at The Old Grammar School, Church Street, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 1BH and Data Access Europe headquartered at Lansinkesweg 4, 7553 AE Hengelo, The Netherlands, hereinafter together referred to as "The Organisers", organise a free competition without any obligation to buy, named DataFlex Programming Competition 2016.

The goal of this competition is for participants to solve a programming exercise. The participant with the best design and most accurate code will ultimately win a prize at the end of competition.

2) Eligibility

○ The competition is free and accessible to all 2nd year students at the University of Reading , United Kingdom.

○ By participating in the competition, each participant has expressly accepted the entire clauses of the aforementioned terms.

○ Unicorn InterGlobal Ltd and Data Access employees, their families and agents and the persons involved in the organization of the competition are not allowed to participate in it.

○ Each participant must participate on his/her own behalf.

3) Registration

Contact details provided solely for the purpose of participating in the competition will only be used to contact the winner of the competition. All entries must be received by midnight GMT on the end date.

4) Judging

The name of the winner will be announced no later than 28th February 2017. The Judges decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

5) Prize

The Prize will be:

A 1st prize of 600, 2nd prize of 300 and 3rd prize of 100. A cheque will be mailed to the University of Reading, who will transfer the funds to the winning students. The Organisers reserve the right to substitute the prize with an alternative prize of equivalent value. The Organisers will contact the winner and the University of Reading via email as soon as they are announced, to obtain their postal address so as to send them the prize. No message will be sent to the persons who did not win the competition.

The winner of the competition hereby expressly authorises The Organisers to publish his/her name together with his/her competition entry in an article on Unicorn InterGlobal’s website and Data Access Europe’s website.

6) Acceptance of the Rules

Participation in this competition implies a whole acceptance, without reservation of these Rules and its amendments, if any. The Organisers will be fully entitled to postpone, to shorten, to extend or to cancel this competition without any liability. Participants waive any right to any claim or from any demand of compensation in such a case.

The Organisers are fully entitled to modify the Rules at any time under the form of an amendment, in respect of the expressed conditions, and they will be announced publicly on the site.

7) Litigation and civil liability

The Organisers are fully entitled to shorten, extend, modify or cancel the competition should circumstances so require without any liability. 

The Rules are subject to the laws of England without taking choice of laws rules into effect. In any case of a claim being made, the parties will attempt to settle their litigation amicably. Any claim relative to the competition or to its Rules will have to reach The Organisers by letter within one month from 9th December 2016. 

The Organisers and their subsidiaries, affiliates and promotional agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, are not responsible for the loss or damage of entries, illegible, incomplete or incorrect entries, and shall not be held accountable for any damage, loss or liability to any person or property due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize or to participation in the competition. As a condition of entering the competition, each participant agrees that under no circumstances will he/she be entitled to any awards for any losses or damages, and the participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, and waives any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.

8) Other
