Visual DataFlex 10.1 Beta available

Wizardry abounds in the new Visual DataFlex 10.1 beta which is now available and downloadable at www.dataaccess.com/download.asp. Lookup, Web and Class Creation Wizards have added functionality that will make it even easier to create lookup lists, generate XHTML compatible code and have the ability to subclass a single class quickly and easily. For full details on what’s new in Visual DataFlex 10.1 visit www.visualdataflex.com.

DataFlex databases hosted on SAMBA and Linux Servers

With the continuing growth in the number of companies who are moving to Linux-based servers, Data Access Worldwide initiated research to investigate the feasibility of hosting DataFlex embedded databases on a Linux Server with VDF and character mode DataFlex 3.2 applications. The results of the testing have now been posted on the Data Access Worldwide website and for more information visit

EDUC Review

It’s not often that developers and users have the time to discuss their current projects and learn what’s new in the industry but as in previous years EDUC proved to be a good forum to meet and exchange ideas. Delegates from across Europe had a choice of presentations and breakout sessions throughout the two days we spent in Cambridgeshire. It was good to have had the opportunity to speak to so many of you and we hope we can do so again at the next European DataFlex Users Conference to be held in Malta in May 2005.

Data Access Conference

A date for your diary is June 6-8 Miami, Florida, when Data Access Worldwide will be hosting its conference. More details will follow, but for those of you planning next year’s holidays this is to keep you up to date!
