Visual DataFlex 11 released

Data Access has announced the release of Visual DataFlex 11 and it is now even easier and quicker to upgrade applications from previous VDF revisions. Technological enhancements in this version have been designed to ensure that connecting VDF applications to web services and SQL database servers are faster and more effective. Improved performance and many new features have been incorporated and if you have a VDF subscription you will receive your CD in a few days. This is a significant update and will require a new unlock code. Codes will be sent to you by email.

News from Mertech

Flex2SQL driver released

Mertech have announced the release of ORAFlex 8, now called Flex2SQL for Oracle v.8. This offers very significant improvement in performance over the current released version, plus many new features. Flex2SQL for Oracle v8 will support only Oracle versions 9i and above.

MS SQL Server 2000 SP4

Significant changes by Microsoft in MS SQL Server 2000 SP4 will require a new Mertech SQLFlex driver. Microsoft had issued several warnings relating to SP4, but Mertech say their new driver resolves all known issues. It is recommended that you do not install SP4 without updating the SQLFlex driver as this will result in performance issues. For more information visit www.mertechdata.com

Business Intelligence Seminar

A sunny afternoon on the banks of the Thames was an idyllic setting for our successful Business Intelligence Seminar where we demonstrated Dynamic AI to a discerning audience. Dynamic AI is a browser based reporting tool that can collate information from various disparate database sources such as DB2, MS SQL and even Excel spreadsheets. In business we have been gathering information for years, but now we can access this information in a meaningful way in real time. We shall be holding another seminar on 11th October, but if you would like more information on Dynamic AI now please call us on 0118 988 8709.
