Visual DataFlex ranked in Top 20!

Visual DataFlex Personal has once again featured in the top 20 “Most Popular” database development tools on Download.com. Advertisements were placed in PC Plus and Personnal Computer World.

Visual DataFlex Beta Releases

AJAX Library 1.0 Beta 1

Data Access have released the VDF AJAX Library 1.0. The AJAX Library enables developers to make their web applications more feature-rich and attractive. The Library includes both the foundation for building AJAX (or Web 2.0 applications) as well as a sample application that shows you how to do it. For information and to download use these links.

Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, ODBC Connectivity Kits 5 Beta 3

Download these Connectivity Kits and test them with your existing applications. Data Access would appreciate your feedback. If you are using VDF 11.1 you will need to update Database Builder to 11.1.36.0 which is included in the Revision 5 Connectivity Kits. This is not necessary if you are using VDF 12.0. The Beta releases will automatically install Revision 5 registration code, please do not attempt to register using a code from previous revisions.

Pervasive Celebrates 25 years!

Pervasive has just celebrated its 25 Anniversary. Gilbert Van Cutsem, General Manager of their Database Group says that their focus has always been to provide embedded databases for business users who want to concentrate on running their business instead of managing their database. That focus, and the continued involvement of their customer base in developing and testing the next version, helped make Pervasive PSQL the product it is today. It began in 1982 on DOS. Windows, NetWare, OS/2, NT, and Linux followed and Vista is next when Pervasive PSQL.10, is due to be released later this year, incorporating full Windows Vista support and compatibility. We’ll let you know when it’s available.
