New Visual DataFlex Releases

New Visual DataFlex v12.1 build

A new build of Visual DataFlex 12.1 (12.1.124.11) has just been released with a number of important and useful updates and fixes including, latest build Connectivity Kits, an updated Database Explorer, a Studio bug fix and an updated registration program that allows the mixing of connectivity enabled and non-connectivity enabled Visual DataFlex licences. As with any reinstallation of a same version of Visual DataFlex (i.e. v12.1 prior build to v12.1 Build 12.1.124.11), we recommend that developers uninstall the existing build and then install the new one. Downloads are available from VDF Studio, Server and Client.

AJAX Library v1.1 for Visual DataFlex

The Visual DataFlex AJAX Library provides developers with a solid application framework to rapidly build transactional web applications that function like a desktop. VDF AJAX Library consists of a number of parts: Examples of Workspaces (Order Entry, Contacts, Wines), Wizards, Templates, Help, Server Side Library with Web Service Interface, Web Business Objects, and Session Manager and the Client Side Library with JavaScript.

It will show you, step by step, how to build full-scale Windows applications. The book includes examples, exercises and software to enable you to learn at your own pace. Pervasive PSQL v9 Service Pack 2, Update 1 now available as HotFix

For all PSQL v9 users, Update 1 for Service Pack 2 is now available and can be downloaded from the Pervasive website. It’s now easier than ever to apply patches to your PSQL installation because everything is delivered in a single executable file for either Windows or NetWare.

Instead of applying patches one component at a time, Pervasive Support now delivers Updates in a setup.exe file that launches with a Wizard that manages the install. (Updates for Linux distribution are delivered in .tar and .rpm formats.) The setup.exe file contains updates for all PSQL components, including: Client, Workgroup, and Server. The Wizard identifies the PSQL components on your system and patches the existing install. As new FTFs are created they are addeed to the HotFix. Once the Wizard determines what is running on your system, it applies each of the component FTFs, bringing your Pervasive PSQL installation to the very latest patch level available. For more information on what’s included in PSQL v9 Service Pack 2, Update 1, take a look at the readme.
