It’s been a busy year for us at Unicorn InterGlobal and now we’re looking forward to a few days off with our family and friends.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients and colleagues for their support during the year and to wish you all a relaxing, peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Data Access SQL Connectivity kits v5.1 released

Data Access has released SQL Connectivity kits v5.1, for Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 and ODBC connectivity.

Features and enhancements in this version include:

  • the introduction of support for SQL Server 2008, removing the need to create uppercase columns on the back-end database and the delivery of important bug fixes.
  • the DB2 Connectivity Kit also implements a change for how Binary Columns are created

Developers wishing to take up the latest version, can download the latest build (5.1.0.66) and documentation for their preferred DBMS from ftp://ftp.dataaccess.com/pub/products/connectivity.

Information about what’s included in this latest release and how the change to the Ignore_Ucase_Support setting will affect your existing databases and applications are detailed in the CK 5.1 Recent Changes and Fixes document. This document is available from the folder from which you download your chosen connectivity kit.

For developers upgrading from a connectivity kit version prior to v5.0, the What’s New in Version 5 document contains important information that may have consequences for existing applications and databases.
